Job Description
The Social Media Assistant will work closely with the business owner, who is well-versed in social media management, to help execute our marketing and social media strategies. This role involves a mix of content creation, scheduling, engagement, and analytics to ensure our social media channels reflect our brand and connect with our audience.
Key Responsibilities
- Content Support: Assist in creating and curating content for various social media platforms, including images, graphics, and written posts
- Scheduling: Use tools like Loomly to schedule social media posts, ensuring consistency and optimal timing
- Engagement: Monitor social media channels for comments, messages, and mentions, and engage with followers by responding in a timely and brand-appropriate manner
- Analytics: Assist in tracking and analyzing the performance of social media posts and campaigns, compiling data for reports
- Research: Stay updated on the latest social media trends, tools, and techniques, and provide insights to the team
- Collaboration: Work with the Social Media Manager and other team members to ensure that content aligns with broader marketing strategies
- Administrative Tasks: Handle various administrative duties related to social media, such as organizing content calendars and managing digital assets
Qualifications
- Experience with social media platforms (e.g., Instagram, Facebook, Pinterest, TikTok, LinkedIn, YouTube, and X)
- Proven graphic design skills and experience using tools like Canva
- Strong written communication skills
- Familiarity with social media management tools (e.g., Loomly, Hootsuite) is a plus
- Ability to multitask and manage time effectively

Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a social media or marketing role is a plus
- Basic knowledge of analytics tools and metrics
- Basic understanding of how images and design fit together with social media marketing and the importance of images in advertising
- Ability to produce engaging visual graphics
- Experience capturing stills and videos to leverage for social media marketing campaigns
- Proficiency overlaying music and graphics over images
- Knowledge of additional graphic design software (e.g., Adobe Creative Suite) is a plus
- Basic video editing skills
- Experience in the professional organizing or interior design industry
Education
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Courses towards a degree in marketing, communications, and/or graphic design is a plus
Additional Requirements
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
- Ability to pass a background check and provide at least (3) three professional references
- Availability to work flexible hours
Earning Potential
- Compensation starts at $15/hr with opportunities for advancement commensurate with experience
